RawShooter and Capture One are distant relations - the designer worked on both. Like Capture One, workflow is in a different league from programs like Adobe ACR or Canon DPP. Again there’s lots of signs that a photographer took part in the design process. Although the interface is different from many other RAW file packages, once you get used to it you’ll realise why. Where Nikon Capture has so many floating toolboxes that it gets hard to see the images, RawShooter has the controls you actually need there all the time, and a large preview pane with a button to toggle between “fit in window” and 100% view. Exactly what you need to choose and then adjust the best frame of each shot. Once you add each frame to the processing queue you can start adjusting the next one. You can also set up the batch processing module to rename and save each file wherever you want - it’s bliss.
To give you an idea of how big a deal that workflow is - When I come back from a day long shoot and use RawShooter to process my RAW files, it saves me a DAY compared to the same job with the software I used to use. I have to emphasise that - to edit 500 images down to about 100 and individually tweak every image it’s a DAY quicker. The time saving is HUGE.
