At 200 ISO the Nikon D70 provides an excellent performance with very little noise. Differences between results here are very small, with all of the packages performing well. There are some differences though, with the Nikon NEF plug in producing softer results than the others and a little less detail. Despite the name, Silkypix showed more jaggies on straight edges than any of the others and again less detail than the best. Of the rest RawShooter and ACDSee provided good results but somehow had less sparkle and flatter shadows than the best. Of the others Bibble’s result stands out as the best closely followed by Capture NX and Capture One. Bibble wins in this case not so much for better sharpness or detail, although they are very good, but better color and noticeably better shadow detail than any of the others.
