Once again ACDSee comes last. After the excellent results from ACDSee with Canon EOS 5D files I’m surprised at how poor it seems to be with Canon 20D images. Results are much softer and have far less detail than all the others here. Canon’s Digital Photo Professional again produces lots of detail - more than any of the others, but also has lots more noise than all the others except Adobe Camera RAW which suffers from high noise levels without producing the same amount of fine detail. Capture one is at the other end of the scale producing a lovely smooth result with nice sharp edges but virtually no texture detail at all on the wood. Bibble and RawShooter both steer a middle course with good detail and low noise but RawShooter is best in both categories - less noise and more detail so is a clear winner here.
