The interface is vastly improved and is now much more like RawShooter and Capture One. In version 4.8 Bibble Pro has far more tabs and control sliders than either of the others. Apart from Noise Ninja and Perfectly Clear Technology we now also have built in corrections for distortion, vignetting and chromatic aberrations. Distortion correction is a really useful addition and is available for a fairly large selection of Canon lenses but not every one - the program wrongly identified this Canon 28-70 f2.8L image as being taken with a Sigma EX 28-70 f2.8. Full list for each camera at www.bibblelabs.com
Bibble Pro is now very well thought out, and is clearly aimed at very fast workflow. The built in noise reduction from Noise Ninja works very well. Results with Canon EOS 5D files at high ISO’s were among the best. “Perfectly Clear Technology” sounds great, it analyses every pixel to give the best possible image but to be honest I haven’t found it a great help so far. Although the science sounds interesting the end result is very much like “auto levels” in Photoshop, and just like that, any dominant colour, as in my test image, throws the colour correction off - in this case turning the image green.
So far I’ve only used this version with Canon EOS 5D, 20D and Nikon D70 files so I’ll update the review as I test more cameras.
